New for the 2017 season, the Abbotsford Triathlon Club will be sponsoring Time Trials, one of the most accessible forms of bicycle racing. Whether you are a recreational cyclist or a serious racer, all ages and abilities are welcome to participate and reap the many benefits of time trials:

1. Data gathering in a race setting – find what your best effort feels like!
2. Learn pacing – there’s no better place to practice maintaining those RPMs
3. Dedicated aero practice
4. Realistic race simulation – just like race day, it’s just you and your bike fighting the wind
5.  Mental strength test – each time trial as a practice run for visualization and motivational techniques to be used on race day

WHAT YOU NEED:

1. Bike – fully functional and tires pumped
2. Nutrition
3. Helmet
4. Bike shoes – don’t laugh, every year people forget stuff

OPTIONAL and ONLY if you are physically fit enough right now to safely run after the Time Trial, we will be making a habit of running the nearby dike for anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes afterwards, depending on your fitness level and time constraints. You will run at your OWN personal pace. Know your pace limit and run within it!

RULES: 

1. No helmet – no riding
2. No devices for playing music allowed
3. Be responsible for your own bike maintenance please
4. IF you are running afterwards, be sure you lock up your bike on your rack or in your car.
