  • Run Workout

    Matsqui Trail Regional Park Riverside Street Entrance, Abbotsford, BC, Canada

    Sunday Morning Long Runs: This is a “Coach Present” run session which happens at a variety of running locations. Sometimes, we even go out for breakfast together afterwards!

    During the summer, Coach Mikey starts the run at 7:00am for 2+ hours. Oftentimes, other ATC members start at 8:00am so feel free to start your run at 8:00am if you only want to run an hour. Start your run at 7:00am if you only want to run an hour but need to be done early. Just come and run!

  • Introduction to Lake Swimming

    We will be once again be returning to Whonnock Lake for our third season of "Introduction To Lake Swimming" practices.

    These are mainly for folks who are new to the sport and want to become comfortable and confident in lake swims. These are not swim stroke correction sessions, nor are they for experienced triathletes who want to swim faster.

    Abbotsford Recreation Centre 2499 McMillan Road, Abbotsford, BC, Canada

    Friday Morning Drop-In Swim: This is a “coach present” swim session with weekly workouts of 3 levels of difficulty supplied for you to follow, tailored for intermediate to experienced swimmers. Click on the menu Training > Swim Workouts to view detailed information for individual workouts.

    Join fellow triathletes and swimmers at the Abbotsford Recreation Center from 5:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. on Friday mornings. Participants should be able to swim at least 100 m in the pool without stopping. Regular pool admission fees apply. Coach tips to help you develop your technique/body position/breathing and stroke efficiently are provided upon request.

  • Westwood Lake Triathlon

    Westwood Lake Park

    Sprint & Standard

    The 2nd Annual Westwood Lake Triathlon will be taking place at Westwood Lake Park in Nanaimo on May 14th, 2017. Dynamic Race Events in partnership with the City of Nanaimo and Tourism Nanaimo is excited to be bringing the event to the mid-Island.

    Westwood Lake Park is one of Nanaimo’s best loved parks and is located just 4 km from downtown Nanaimo. Nestled in the foothills of Mt. Benson it is a year round destination. There is a 5.51 km trail around the lake, and is a popular favorite spot of local walkers and runners. Westwood Lake is a large lake with a maximum depth about 24 feet. Local triathletes begin swimming in the lake in mid-April.

    The transition for the event will be the main beach parking lot just meters from the water’s edge.

    The race offers Sprint and Standard courses in this epic venue.

    The swim will start off the main beach at Westwood Lake.

    The bike courses for each distance share the first initial 10 km section leaving the lake. The bike course travels through roads west of Hwy 19 through the rural neighborhoods of Jingle Pot Rd., Brannen Lake, Dumont Rd and for the Half Iron includes the climb up Meadows Rd.

    The Sprint and Olympic bike courses consist of single loop out-and-back courses before returning to Westwood Lake Park.

    The run will be through the beautiful trails of Westwood Lake Park with the finish near second beach.

  • Time Trials (Cycling)

    New for the 2017 season, the Abbotsford Triathlon Club will be sponsoring Time Trials, one of the most accessible forms of bicycle racing. Whether you are a recreational cyclist or a serious racer, all ages and abilities are welcome to participate and reap the many benefits of time trials.

    Dynamic Race Events is proud to present the 14th Annual WCOC Triathlon on Saturday June 3rd, 2017. We are looking forward to welcoming back those who have raced with us before and those who will be racing with us for the first time.

    The event is held on Saturday, June 3rd, the day before the Oliver Half Iron. We will again be hosting both Sprint and Olympic distance races. Hosting the event the day before the Oliver Half Iron enables us to focus on a weekend of triathlon and makes the event easier for the community and volunteers.

  • Tri*Joy Spring Triathlon Training Camp

    Cultas Lake

    ATC is proud to present the Tri*Joy Spring Triathlon Training Camp on June 10-11, 2017. This amazing 2-day camp will cover everything you need to know about racing a triathlon – from the swim, bike and run to transitions to race nutrition and everything in-between!

    For those racing at the Cultus Lake Triathlon presented by Dynamic Race Events, it will also provide you with local knowledge to help you race your best. The awesome Tri*Joy coaches (Mikey, Bryan and Kevin) will take you through how the race day will go, cycling the routes, running part of the run course, walking transitions and getting into the lake. They will also brief you on areas to concentrate on as you gear up for the big event providing advice and guidance as you enter the final training phase.

    Registration fees are $50.00 for ATC members and $100.00 for non-ATC members.

  • Annual Dip & Sip

    Cultas Lake

    Join ATC for our the Annual Dip & Sip - a group open water swim with fellow ATC members plus hot drinks and treats afterwards. Entrance Bay (NOT Main Beach) at Cultus Lake, 10:00am on Saturday, May 27.
